QIC participated in national sports day to encourage a healthy and balanced life style

To celebrate National Sports Day in its true sense, Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) employees participated in the Qatar Central Bank (QCB) Marathon, which is one of the biggest sporting events in Qatar. The Marathon, which was organised for the employees of banks and financial institutions, started from Al Bidaa Park, covering a 3 km circuit and ended at the Corniche. QIC employees participated in the Marathon and were joined by their families to cheer them for their participation.
To further its commitment towards building healthier and prosperous communities, QIC, Qatar’s flagship insurer collaborated with Huawei to offer wearable TalkBand B1 devices to the winners and runners up of the QCB Marathon. By doing so, QIC once again demonstrated its drive towards Corporate Social Responsibility and strong resolve towards building a fit and healthier nation. The Marathon represented QIC’s ongoing campaign towards promoting and encouraging a balanced lifestyle.
The Huawei TalkBand B1 is a smart “Talk-and-Track” wearable band that offers various fitness-related features and can be connected to both Android and iOS devices. In addition to its big-data tracking capabilities, TalkBand B1 wristband also features wireless voice calling by easily removing a built-in Bluetooth earpiece. The sleek band can also track steps taken, miles covered, calories burnt, activity time, progress as well as the quality and duration of sleep time.
Commenting on the success of the Marathon, Senior Deputy Group President and CEO of QIC Group, Mr. Ali Al Fadala stated: “We are extremely delighted to participate in the QCB Marathon, which has now become an integral part of Qatar’s annual sporting calendar. Through our partnership with Huawei, we hope to further increase the well-being of all the people of Qatar and contribute in the development and fulfillment of the Qatar National Vision (QNV) 2030.”
He further added, “We would like to congratulate the winners and runners up on securing prominent positions in the Marathon. As a token of remembrance to continue leading a healthy and balanced lifestyle, we are happy to offer TalkBands to the winners and runners up. The TalkBand will help in improving health, be better connected with family, friends and provide better access to work.”
We would also like to express our thanks to QCB for organising such an important event, as it offers an engaging platform for people from different walks of life to come together to promote the importance of sports and lead a healthy and active lifestyle. It also allows in building team spirit across communities including professionals and homemakers, sports enthusiasts and members of various socio-cultural groups.
Mr. Salem Al Mannai, Deputy CEO of Q Life & Medical Insurance Company (QLM, a subsidiary of QIC) distributed Huawei TalkBands to the winners of beach football, basketball and beach volleyball tournaments at Katara Cultural Village in the presence of Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, Director-General, Katara Cultural Village Foundation, Mr. Ahmed Al Sayed, Deputy CEO of Katara Cultural Village Foundation and Mr. Abdul Rahman Al Tamimi from Katara’s Management. Mr. Fahad Al Mana, Deputy CEO of QIC International (QICI, a subsidiary of QIC) distributed Huawei TalkBands to the winners of various sports activities that were organised at Weyak, Mental Health Friends Association, in the presence of H.E. Mr. Hassan bin Abdulla Al Ghanim, Vice Chairman of Weyak.
