Salem Khalaf Al Mannai

Group CEO

Salem Al Mannai serves as the Group CEO of QIC Group, where he oversees the strategic direction and operations of the organization. A postgraduate from the University of South Wales, Salem began his journey with QIC in 2001, starting in the Motor department. After two years in this role, he earned a scholarship to pursue his degree in the UK. Upon his return, Salem joined QIC’s Marine department in 2006 as a Senior Underwriting Officer, later advancing to the position of Assistant Vice President for Cargo. His leadership trajectory continued as he took on the role of Deputy CEO of QLM in 2013, followed by his appointment in 2015 as Deputy Group President & CEO for QIC’s MENA region. In 2020, Salem was appointed CEO of QIC Group, a position that highlights his extensive expertise and industry knowledge. Under his leadership, the Group spearheaded innovative solutions that have strengthened QIC’s position as a pioneer in the insurance industry, both within the MENA region and in global markets.

Chirag Doshi

Chirag Doshi

Group Chief Investment Officer

Chirag joined QIC Group in 2004 and has an experience of over 18 years in Treasury & Investment Portfolio Management functions. He has been instrumental in establishing QIC as a leading investment house in the MENA region. Chirag is credited for being one of the early stage portfolio managers in the GCC fixed income space, from the infancy of the market in 2005. Prior to joining QIC, Chirag was with Standard Chartered Bank in Mumbai, India. Chirag is a qualified Chartered Accountant, CFA charter holder and a Certified Treasury Manager.

Group Chief Business Officer - International

Ahmed joined QIC Group in 2011 and has over nine years of experience in the industry. He has a wide range of knowledge and expertise in Audit, Advisory and Financial services to a broad range of industries. Prior to joining the QIC Group, Ahmed was working with KPMG audit and advisory in Qatar and in Egypt. Ahmed is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the UK. He is also a member of the CFA institute and holds an MBA degree from Oxford Brookes University.

Mena Mounir

Group Chief Financial Officer

Mena Mounir is the Group Chief Financial Officer of QIC Group. Mena joined QIC in 2014 and has over 20 years of experience in insurance finance and Big Four audit across the Middle East, having led the Group’s IFRS 17 implementation and its finance automation and AI agenda. Prior to joining QIC, Mena was with Ernst & Young in Doha and began his career with Deloitte in Cairo. He is a U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), and holds a BBA in Accounting.

Group Chief Business Officer - MENA

C.M. Unnikrishnan has over 34 years of experience in the insurance industry of which 26 years have been in the Middle East region. He started his career with The New India Assurance Company before relocating to the Middle East in 1994. He joined QIC in 1997 and has played an integral role in growing QIC’s Property & Commercial business in Qatar & in the wider MENA region. An industry veteran, he has amassed significant hands on experience in underwriting, risk management, reinsurance and client management. He is also credited for enhancing and maintaining broker relationships of QIC ’s different entities in the MENA region.

Varghese David

Varghese David

Advisor to Group CEO

Varghese P David is Advisor to the Group CEO of QIC Group. He has over 25 years of industry experience, including more than 20 years in the Middle East. He joined QIC Group in 1998 and has since held roles across finance, internal audit, IT, and risk management.Prior to joining QIC Group, he worked with Sedgwick Group in the UAE, a leading insurance broker that is now part of Marsh.He is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is also a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) with the Institute of Internal Auditors (USA) and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) with ISACA (USA).

Rashid Al Buainain

Group Chief Administrative Officer

Rashid Al-Buainain is the Group Chief Administrative Officer of QIC Group. Rashid’s journey began when he graduated from Leeds Beckett University in the UK, where he earned his degree in Business Management. After Completing his studies, Rashid started his career in the Ministry of Education, where he gained invaluable experience and skills. In 2003, he joined QIC Group, and throughout his tenure at QIC, Rashid played a critical role in the administration, facilities and operations management of the company. His leadership and unwavering commitment to excellence have been instrumental in the implementation of several key initiatives that have helped QIC to grow and thrive. In his role as the Group Chief Administrative Officer, Rashid oversees a wide range of critical functions within the Group.

Ahmed Al Jarboey

Chief Operating Officer QIC

Ahmed Al Jarboey is the Chief Operating Officer of QIC. He is a highly qualified individual with extensive experience in the insurance sector. He obtained a diploma in Marketing from the College of the North Atlantic and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Derby in the United Kingdom. Al Jarboey started his career at Qatar Insurance Company in 2006 and worked his way up the ranks. He gained valuable experience working in various departments, including retail, property and commercial, and claims. He held several managerial positions, including Assistant Manager in the Retail Department, Assistant Manager in the Property & Commercial Department, and Senior Manager in the Motor Claims Department. Al Jarboey was then appointed as Senior Vice President-MENA Retail & Motor, where he played a key role in the company’s success.

Alibek Tnaliyev

Group Chief Digital & AI Officer

Alibek joined QIC Group in 2021 and brings over 15 years of experience in the digital realm, spanning digital transformation, insurtech, and technology leadership across the MENA region and beyond. In his current role Alibek oversees the Digital Hub, Group IT, MENA IT, and all designated digital and technology functions across QIC’s global operations, reporting directly to the Group CEO. Prior to QIC, Alibek held senior digital leadership roles across the MENA region, bringing extensive experience in digital strategy, product development, and technology transformation. Alibek holds a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from Moscow Military University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business from Narxoz University. He is an alumnus of the Stanford University HAI AI Leaders Program and Open AI academy.

Group Chief Audit Executive

Saji has been with QIC Group since 2007 and was earlier involved in compliance, internal audit, corporate governance, risk management and internal control related functions. He started his career in general insurance in Mumbai in 1985 with the New India Assurance Co through the Assistant Administration Officer (A/cs & Audit) national selection test. He was also a part of the team that pioneered introduction of credit insurance in the public sector insurance environment in India. Eventually he assumed responsibility for its countrywide operations before relocating to the Middle-East. Saji is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India (FIII), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) from the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), USA and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (FCA).

Sultan Ghani

Group Chief Risk Officer

Sultan Ghani has over four decades of distinguished experience in the insurance industry and is widely recognized as a seasoned veteran in the field. For many, he needs no introduction. He began his career in 1985, working across the insurance markets of Abu Dhabi and Bahrain until March 1998. In 1998, he joined Qatar Insurance Company, where he has been instrumental in building and consistently growing a profitable Marine & Energy portfolio in the region for many years. Sultan holds a Diploma in Insurance (Dip CII) from the Chartered Insurance Institute, London, UK. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science and a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management, both from the University of Madras, India.
